Essay: Your clothes should make a statement about who you are

Clothing is one of our basic needs. It affects almost every aspect of my life and play an important role in
adding up to my personality. They do various social, mental and physical work for me which are essential
for a complete personality. The statement it makes during everyday circumstance to express my desires,
to show my discretion, to convince or to convey a message, show people who I am. This makes it
significant to think about the type of message, my clothing produces.

A new persona of myself can be created whether to fit career move, life change or a particular mood by
changing the particular styles of clothing worn. Likewise, I can show my artistic abilities via my clothing
as it does away with monotony while adding variety to life. With clothing, the chain of uniformity can be
broken which separates me both physically and socially.

I refuse to follow trends as it gives indication towards one way of thinking; either to be conventional or
free. The clothing should show the uniqueness of my personality as a whole. To me, clothing is much
similar to food as one serves social purpose for humans while the other server health purpose to them,
respectively.
