Design Engineer - Job Description

Skeg’s services include, product positioning, business modelling, engineering, prototyping, testing, designing for
manufacture and manufacturing.
We are expanding our team and are looking for a passionate Junior Design Engineer (Electronic/Mechatronic Engineer)
who has a diverse set of engineering and software skills and has a keen interest in technology. If you would like to be

Roles and Responsibilities
The Design Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, debugging and maintaining programs and PCB designs
for the organisation. This will include, but is not be limited to:
 Electronic hardware design (PCB Schematic and Layout) and debugging including soldering and assembly
 Software design and implementation
 Embedded firmware design and implementation
 Testing and debugging both hardware and software
 Report writing
Requirements
 Diploma/Degree qualification in Mechatronics-, Electro-Mechanical or Electronic Engineering
 Up to three years relevant experience
 Web Development (PHP, HTML, JavaScript, MYSQL
 iOs and Android Programming
 C, C++, Java programming experience
 Experience in Altium Designer for PCB design will be advantageous.
 Report writing skills
 Ability to understand and work within Skeg’s well-developed systems and processes
 High attention to detail with the willingness to investigate and resolve issues speedily
 Ability to manage and efficiently plan work
 Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
 Stable track record with contactable references
 Must have own reliable transport
