To create a server-

1. Start Steam in offline mode, open Dota 2.


2. Enable console. ( You can find it on bottom left of the screen on Settings -> Options ->
Advanced Options )
3. You may need to configure a key to open the console. ( Again, Settings -> Hotkeys ->
Advanced Hotkeys )
4. Open console. Type following commands:
a. sv_lan 1
b. map dota
5. Server will start. Join a team, then if you want to add bots-
a. dota_bot_match_difficulty <0–4> ( 0 for Passive - 4 for Unfair
b. dota_bot_populate
6. You need IP address of the server in order for others to join the server. I assume that the
server using WiFi to connect to the network.
a. Open Command prompt
b. Type ipconfig.
c. Under Wireless LAN adapter Wi-Fi, find out the key IPv4 Address.
d. Note the value under it, it should look something like this - 192.168.x.x
To join the server-

First 3 steps are same. Follow the rest of the steps-

4. Open Console, Type the command:

connect 192.168.x.x (port : 27015)

( Replace 192.168.x.x with the IP address of the server )

5. After a couple of minutes, you’ll be able to join the server. Don’t force quit dota2 while connecting
because it may look like the Dota 2 is hanged / frozen.

6. You can select the team that you want to join ( Radiant / Dire )
