“Human Rights: Buwan ng Mga Kababihan”
(Proclamation No. 227 s. 1988)
March 8, 2016
This year’s theme is “Kapakanan ni Juana, Isama sa Agenda!” (Include Women in
the Agenda). The theme resonates the call for gender-balance in leadership and decision
making positions both in public and private sector; inclusion of women’s concerns in
leadership platforms and the government’s development agenda; and capacitating and
preparing women and girls to reach their ambitions.
The objectives of this year’s celebration are as follows: To recognize and highlight
women’s key roles and accomplishments in leadership, power and decision-making; To
increase awareness on engaging women to participate at all levels of policy and decision-
making; To include in every agenda; To share strategies and best practices women have
employed to become successful women leaders.
In line with this meaningful celebration, the pupils of Tibiawan Elementary School
together with the Supreme Pupil Government Officers conducted a short thanksgiving
program last March 8, 2016 for their mothers and teachers to show and tell their love and
respect for women.
The program begins with the singing of the National Anthem: Lupang Hinirang
followed by a doxology of the Tibiawan ES Children’s Choir, conducted by Mrs. Joan
Azenith Z. Tacud, Grade 5 Adviser. A message of thanksgiving is given by Sheena Mae F.
Gallano, President of SPG/Grade 6. The program also includes an intermission number
from the selected pupils of Tibiawan Elementary School.
Mrs. Careza E. Natal, Grade 3 Adviser, reiterate about how women give impact to
the society and what they can contribute to the betterment of our society.
The program ended with an overwhelming message from the mothers and the
teachers that they’ve felt the love and respect they needed. .
