Design Style Project

Points: 50

With a partner, you are going to find 2 ways to creatively display a

design style that is randomly chosen for you.

● One way will be physical - board, portfolio book, magazine

● One way will be electronic - pinterest board, infographic,
poster, Adobe Spark Page, Adobe Spark Video, iMovie

Both of you will collaborate and research the style in more depth,
using class notes, powerpoint, and the internet. You both need to
find photos of furniture, rooms, spaces, accessories, and colors used
within the theme. (the same photos are used in both displays)

Then you will present both, professionally to the class.

You will be graded on:

- Prep (5 points):
- Did you complete the project plan?
- Did you split the work between your team members?
- Craftsmanship (30 points):
- Do you final displays look good?
- Did your team put in a good amount of effort in
completing it?
- Professionalism (5 points):
- Did you use class time effectively?
- Did you share the work with your partner?
- Presentation (10 points):
- Do you both of you share roles in the presentation?
- Did you plan out your presentation?
- How will you use both displays in this presentations?

**After each step, you NEED to check in with Ms. Sears before you
can go onto the next step.

Step 1: Delegate Tasks Between Partners

One partner needs to do the electronic portion. Another needs to

do the physical portion. You are allowed to work together on both,
but one partner is solely responsible for one.

Write the name of each person who is doing each display.

Step 2: Gather media

As a team, you will need to gather photos, information, and other

media (videos, stores) that describe that design style.

You need to put everything in a shared google drive folder. This will
make it easier for you to have the same photos and information.
One of the partners needs to create folder and share it with the
other partner.

You will then add the following:

- Photos
- Websites
- Ms. Sears’s powerpoint
- Videos
- Information about design style

Step 3: Construction
In this step, you will be creating your displays. Both displays need to
incorporate at least:

- 10 photos
- A description of style (2-3 sentences)
- On the physical it needs to be typed
- 5 design features which make the style unique
- On physical display it needs to be typed
- stores/brands where you can shop the style
- A celebrity that incorporates this style in their home
- Examples: Kim Kardashian, Jake Paul, James Charles,
Emma Chamberlin, Cole & Sav, Cardi B, Drake, ----really
anyone who you can look up and see the inside of their
home.
Electronic - your display needs to be made on one of the following
ways:
- Canva
- Piktochart
- Adobe Spark (page or video)
- iMovie
- Weebly website
- Any other approved source

Physical - your display needs to be made in one of the following

ways:
- Board
- Portfolio
- Magazine
- Any other approved way

Step 4: Presentation

After both displays have been completed, you with then put the
finishing touches (to make sure it is perfect!) and start planning your
presentation.

In your presentation you will need to:

- Introduce yourselves
- State your assigned design style
- Explain your design style description
- Share the 5 key features that make the style unique
- Stores/Brands where you can shop the style
- Celebrity that uses the style
