Peter and Vanessa meet a passerby* at** the park. She doesn't sound too good.
What does she need? Let's find out!

* A “passerby” is a person who walks by someone or something.


** You use “at” with a location. Ex. I am at the park. You use “on” with a surface. Ex. I am on the
street.

Instructions: Read the text aloud.

Peter: So, why don't we go to the bake ...


Passerby: Excuse me, Miss?
Vanessa: Yes?
Passerby: Uhm ... how do I get to the drugstore?
Vanessa: You don't sound too good. Are you okay?
Passerby: No ... I need some medicine.
Vanessa: OK, turn right and go three blocks up the street.
Passerby: Ok.
Vanessa: Then, turn left at the lights, on Main Street. The drugstore is on your right.
Passerby OK, so I turn right, go three blocks up the street.
Vanessa: Mmhmm.
Passerby: Then, turn right at the lights ...
Vanessa: No! Turn LEFT.
Passerby: OK, thank you.
Vanessa: Wait, how about going to the drugstore together? It's on the way for us.
Right, Peter?
Peter: Yeah, sure.

Expressing Location

You can express location using at and on.
