1. The following is a tabulation of data on the job satisfaction ratings

of a randomly selected sample of college instructors according to
Years of Service.

Required:

a) Estimate the job satisfaction rating of all college instructors

with Years of Service of 11 – 15 Years. Use .05. Interpret
result. (10 pts.)
b) Test if there is a significant difference in satisfaction
between those with Years of Service of 1-5 Years and Above 20
Years. Use .01 and analyze result. (15 pts.)
c) Test if there is a significant difference in job satisfaction
rating of the instructors according to Years of Service. Use
.05. Apply a post hoc test if necessary. (40 pts.)

1. Set up null and alternative hypothesis
Ho: there is no significant difference in job satisfaction rating of the instructors according to
Years of Service

Ha: there is significant difference in job satisfaction rating of the instructors according to
Years of Service.

2. Determine the significance of the computed F-value

A. Df: 4 and 55
F.05= 2.540

B. F= 0.46 < F.05= 2.3719

- Computed F-value is not significant; hence reject Ha

3. Analyzation
- The computed F=0.46 is not significant at 0.05, hence the alternative hypothesis
that there is significant difference in job satisfaction rating of the instructors
according to years of service/s is rejected. Job satisfaction is similar among the
instructors.

B. Test if there is a significant difference in satisfaction between those with Years of Service
of 1-5 Years and Above 20 Years. Use .01 and analyze result. (15 pts.)

HSD= 4.84√113.00 HSD= 4.84√113.00 HSD= 4.84 (10.6301)

HSD= 51.45

|X1- X2| =|68.75 - 89.00| =|20.25| < 51.45 not significant

-there is no significant difference between job satisfaction between those with

years of service of 1-5 years and above 20 years at 0.01.
C. Test if there is a significant difference in job satisfaction rating of the instructors
according to Years of Service. Use .05. Apply a post hoc test if necessary. (40 pts.)

1. F.05= 2.540
Df: 4 and 55
a. F= 0.46 < F.05= 2.3719
