I Objective: To recognize the very special function of protein in building and repairing worn
out tissues and its effects to individuals health.
II Procedure: 1. Calculate the exchanges and meal distribution of 1800 caloric requirements
of a patient suffering from 3rd degree burn.
2. Give a sample menu for lunch of a high protein diet.

C = 1800 x 55% =990/4 =247.5 or 250 gms


P = 1800 x 20% =360/4=90gms
F = 1800 x 25% =450/9=50gms
