SUMMARY OF THE REPORT

The Proclamation of the independence of the Philippines, by Jose P. Laurel, President of

the Preparatory Commission for Philippine Independence happened in Manila, October 14, 1943.
Love of freedom has always been the dominating impulse which has given the historical
evolution of the Filipino race a meaning and a purpose. In war and in peace, the Filipinos have
ceaselessly fought and labored for their freedom ever since they were brought under foreign
yoke, first under Spain for three hundred years or more and later under America for the last forty
years. Their incessant and arduous quest for liberation has been hallowed by the blood and
suffering of countless Filipino heroes and martyrs.

They glory in it as the fulfillment of the Will of Divine Providence which has given to all
nations of the earth the inalienable right to be free and independent.

INTRODUCTION

The Proclamation of Independence of the Philippines means the preparation of the

Philippines, Manila, on, October 14, 1943. It tells about the struggle of the Filipinos and the
relentless struggle of the Filipinos for our freedom from subjugation of the Filipinos to foreign
yoke and the endurance of the Filipinos during the conquest of various countries in the
Philippines. The Filipino people value their freedom as a blessing and as a result of the sacrifice
of their heroic brothers and sisters who fought and died in the great prohibitions of war from
Mactan to Bataan, in their ongoing struggle for freedom. They are proud of this because of the
fulfillment of the Will of Divine Providence which has given all countries of the world the
inalienable right of freedom and liberty.

BODY

The historical evolution of the Filipino race gave a meaning and a purpose. In war and in
peace, the Filipinos fought relentlessly and worked hard for their dream of freedom from being
subjected to foreign yoke. The country was colonized by, first, under Spain for three hundred
years or more and later under America for the last forty years. Also, Japanese colonized the
country for fewer years but it’s a tragic event for every citizen of this country. Their relentless
and intense aspirations for freedom were warned by the blood and suffering of countless Filipino
heroes and martyrs. The people who are involved here are the Filipinos who want a freedom, not
only for them but for their beloved country. They wanted to be free from the colonization of the
Spaniards, Americans and Japanese. Freedom and liberty are the only dreams of every Filipino
that time.
CONCLUSION

The Filipino people, through the Philippine Independent Preparatory Commission, are
asking for help in Divine Care, and the holy spirit of the patriotic Filipinos. Those martyrs who
gave their lives for the freedom of their people, who declared to the world that they were, as the
rights they should be, a free and independent nation. They no longer owe loyalty to any foreign
country; that from now on they will exercise all uses and enjoy all the privileges to which they
are entitled due to a free and independent state. In defending their territorial integrity and
maintaining their independent association, they pledged their destiny, their lives, and their sacred
dignity.

REFLECTION

I learned on this topic the efforts of every Filipino citizen not to give up in the face of
future problems never to oppress other countries fighting until everyone can help Filipinos too.
We all know that Filipinos face too much, even if it is difficult my fellow Filipinos will survive.
Filipinos are resilient and strong because whether it is a typhoon, pandemic, earthquake, war or
any disaster, Filipinos will rise! They will not be shaken. Filipinos will always say, “we will rise
we will move forward!”
