Reaction paper

The topic is about NHA Community Mortgage Program. The Philippine Government launched a
community mortgage program through the National Home Finance Corporation. This was
launched to help the urban poor households to obtain a land they can occupy and have a
development in the site. It is also to give the urban poor areas a housing in a low price. They can
acquire a land by having a housing loan according to their financial capacity. But the are some
problems within this Mortgage Program. The program itself receives many complaints due to
complicated documentary requirements, long process time and low collection repayment. Also
the CMP itself has some weaknesses that have not given much attention after it was
implemented. It pertains to the program targeting, service delivery, and the organization. But
above all that, the program is popular and it is considered by the few. It is also considered
innovative government housing program.

Although, the rates in which a person can borrow from the HDMF is a little bit too high, if it is
computed well, the 6 percent interest seems a little bit too much. What if the person who avail
for the program only takes a minimum a month? The interest the in the said program cannot be
repaid. But I think there’s always a way to pay for that or to earn that money.
