NTHU International Student Scholarship Information (PHD)

The NTHU International Student Scholarship provides two types of scholarships for outstanding international PhD students: (1) Type A scholarship provides NTD20,000-40,000 per month plus tuition and fee waiver. It is for students in certain colleges. (2) Type B scholarship provides NTD10,000 per month plus tuition and fee waiver. It is for students in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Award Description: NTHU International Student Scholarship is awarded to degree-


seeking international students and currently enrolled international students with
outstanding academic and research performance.

Second-year to fourth-year PhD students.
 GPA Requirement:
 Type A scholarship:
minimum GPA 3.4,
 Type B scholarship:
minimum GPA 2.93.
 How to Apply:
Log into NTHU International Student Scholarship online application system.
Fill out the required columns, upload the following documents and submit the
application.
 Application form
 Passport size photo
 An official transcript in Chinese
 A study plan
 Two recommendation letters including one from your advisor or faculty
advisor
 Student Academic Performance Evaluation Form (Ph.D. student only)
Prospective Students: Apply through admission
Application Current Students:
Period  Fall semester admitted student: Around 3rd of June to 16th of June.
 Spring semester admitted student: Around 4th of January to 14th of January.

 Recipients of the scholarship are responsible for payment of the remaining fees not
covered by the waiver (such as student insurance, health insurance, housing,
housing deposit, internet user fee, etc.)
 Scholarships are renewed every year, based on merit. The applicant should re-apply
Notes each year.
 Government scholarship recipients are not eligible for this scholarship at the same
time.
 Students with working visa or ARC based on working permit are not eligible for
this scholarship.
