Elicitation Techniques used in a Project:
The main purpose is to identify the requirements clearly during system analysis
phase. Getting
useless requirements is meaningless. Therefore a clear understanding of the
current situation,
organization structure is a must. The following techniques were used to identify
requirements
which make a high quality product end of the system development.
Interviews
Observations
Interview:-
This method is used to collect the information from individuals with face to face
interaction.
This was conducted with the owner of the bakery and employees who are
working in the
restaurant. Sometimes interviews were held in over the phone to gather the
details. Sharing
details with both side and formal interview give much effort solve the problem. by
using
interviewing as a requirement gathering technique could be very useful because it
help to
clarified doubts at same time by asking questions ,it is very useful to get a clear
picture
the users and their designated areas of duty by asking open end questions .
Observation:-
This method is used to observe the current manual system and to learn about the
system. By
visiting the main bakery helped in identifying the process and the weakness of the
system. How
the employees interact with the current system is also observed.
Details:
initially, we went to the organization in order to interview them, acquiring
the information we got to understand their perspective of how their system was
currently operating. They told us that whenever a customer visits the organization
weather it is a local customer or any customer lying outside the jurisdiction, later
they go to the accounting department where they pay for the selected item and
then goes to the inventory in order to pick up the selected item. An important key
role was that the customer would initially always have to visit the organization at
first.
Our proposed solution:
We concluded them a solution that involved an online system
which would include a list of all the products that are readily available along with
their quantity and quality. Both the type of customers will visit the website and
would search the item they want and whatever they select to purchase would be
selected and would be added to their cart, after the addition of the selected item
into the cart they would be required to enter their credentials including their
address phone number etc. All the payment will be done on the delivery of the
product.
Customer View Process:-
This is a web based solution where the customers can visit the website and check the
items they wish to buy from the bakery. Customers can give a feedback regarding the
bakery food and the service. This system is use in different locations, because bakery
customers are located in different places and it’s allow accessibility from anywhere via
the internet. The system is fully control by the main control room made in the main
branch. The administrator can anytime give the accessibility to the users.
