Common Core Grade 3

Language
Flaps
For interactive
notebooks

www.diaryofanotsowimpyteacher.blogspot.com
I love using interactive
notebooks. Although, there are
many different things that my
students put in the notebooks,
the flaps are a favorite. They
are a supplement to your
language curriculum.

Each of the flaps has a 3rd

grade Common Core language
standard on it and an “I Can”
statement.

Jamie  Sears
Directions:
Students will need a composition or spiral
notebook and a copy of the flap page for
the skill you are working on.

Students will cut the flap page along the

thick outside line.

Students will cut along the dotted lines to

create flaps.

Students will glue along the solid left side

with the title.

Have students write a definition on one side

of the flap and examples on the other side.
This is even more fun if they use colored
pencils or pens!
