Re: Customer Traffic Analysis
Thank you for the opportunity to assess your customer traffic data to provide recommendations for
improving operations. The analysis and recommendations below are based on the ten years of data
you provided. The analysis below is based on this data alone. Therefore, my suggestions should be
tempered by your knowledge of business realities and your market. Please let me know if I can
answer any questions concerning the analysis or the recommendations provided.
The data was analyzed using pivot tables. Pivot tables are a quick and efficient way to process data.
They allow you to manipulate data in many ways and quickly insert the data into a straightforward
interpretation graph. I have Analyzed the traffic patterns by the hour and day for all branches, % of
transactions by branch, and daily traffic between 9-12 pm. Below you will see the finding and the
recommendations based on the data and data alone.

ANALYSIS 1: Percentage of Hourly Traffic by Branch and By Day
Analysis
The data shows very similar traffic patterns across all branches of RGV Bank. Fridays and Saturdays
have the highest traffic patterns; traffic increases around 11 am and peaks at noon; we see another
spike from 4-5 pm, right before closing time.

Recommendation

All branches should have more people working on Friday and Saturday to minimize customers
waiting in line.
All branches should schedule breaks around peak traffic times, 11 - 1 pm, and 4 -5 pm to
maximize employees available to assist customers.
Analysis
The data shows that branches 1, 2, 3 have very similar customer numbers, and each branch accounts
for about 20% of total customer counts. The remaining around 40% of customers do business at the
main branch.

The Main Branch of RGV Bank should have enough employees to assist twice as many customers as
any other branch.
The data shows just under a 100% increase in traffic on Fridays relative to weekdays (Monday -
Thursday) and Just under a 200% increase in traffic on Saturday relative to the weekdays.

SELF ASSESSMENT
This Final project taught me how to deal with data. I went from having raw data to the analysis process
and then recommendations based on the findings. The ability to go through the whole process gave me
a glimpse into being a data-driven decision-maker.
Using pivot tables made it very easy to manipulate the data. I was able to manage data easily, quickly,
and efficiently. After setting up the pivot table, I set up a great visual representation of the data, making
the data more accessible to people. I looked at pivot tables before but never created one myself; after
this project, I will work with pivot tables regularly.
To be a good leader, I need to use data to assist with decision-making. This project showed me it is not
that difficult, and I enjoyed going through the process. I will continue to learn how to analyze data
efficiently and effectively because I know this is just the tip of the iceberg.
