the information provided in the financial statement is not an end in itself.
The information provided in the financial statement is of immense
decisions through analysis and interpretation of financial statements. The
purpose of the financial analysis is to diagnose the information contained
in the financial statement so as to judge the profitability and financial
soundness of the firm with various tolls of analysis before commenting
.upon the financial health or weakness of an enterprise

Objective of the study .2

 To show the firm's relative strength and weakness.

 To determine the financial condition and financial

performance of the firm.

 To identify and analyze the problem area by analyzing the

 To conclude and provide recommendation for better

financial analysis in company's financial year.

Limitations of the study .3

Ratios are useful in judging the efficiency of the business only when they
are compared with the past results of the business or with the results of
the similar business. However such judgement only provides a glimpse of
the past performance and forecast for future may not prove correct since
several other factors like market conditions, management policies, etc
.may not affect the future operations
Scope of the study .4

The findings of the study are based on a sample of farmers

growing gherkin under contract farming where the prices are
pre-determined. The success of contract farming will depend on
the extent of efficiency by the farmers in delivering the produce
or by the EOUs in paying the predetermined price. A unique
feature of gherkin is its lack of domestic market and, hence, the
delinquency is virtually non-existent. Therefore, the findings of
the study presented in this report should be interpreted
judiciously and cannot be generalised for contract farming
arrangements for other crops in the State.

Need of the study .5

Any company like to know its position against its

competitors. The ultimate performance indicators of any
company is the financial parameters because invariably all
costs efficiencies, activities and solvency position of the
.company will be reflected in the financial mirror
