3 ways to define a concept or idea:


1. Formal definition= term, class, distinguishing features
2. Informal definition= term, and class
3. Extended definition= formal sentence info and additional information
-historical background, addtl definition, examples, negatives, statistics, etc

-explication- the act of making clear or removing obscurity from the meaning of a word o
symbol or expression
-explanation- statement that makes smth comprehensible by describing the relevant
structure, operation, or circumstances etc.
The goal of a concept paper is to convince the reader.
Topic- ICT, sciences, education, etc (choose the big concept)
Writing- "How do we compose our concept paper"
1. Writing the introduction: enrichment 1, page 60
1.)What is your product/project all about?
2.)What is your mission with your project/product?
2. Body- enrichment 2, pg 61-62
-Rationale/ background:
1.) what is the importance of the project?
2.) What is the problem that needs solutions?
3.) what are the goals and objectives of the project?
4.) what is the timeline of the project?
5.) Benefits and possible outcome of the proj
6.) What are the methodologies?
3. Writing the conclusion- reemphasize the thesis statement, summary of the body o
the paper, relates importance of the concept.
1.) What is the importance of the concept paper related to a specific field or the
world in general?
Concept paper= to address problems in the society.
