This document is a cover letter for a mandatory training validation survey being sent to graduates of the Water Supply Operator course and their supervisors. Part 1 – Cover Letter for Graduates and Supervisors

WATER SUPPLY OPERATOR (AHHU)

Mandatory Participation - Training Validation Survey

Good day graduates and supervisors,

1. You are receiving this survey because you either have previously attended the
Water Supply Operator (AHHU) course or you are a supervisor of a recent graduate of
said course.

2. Reports from operations suggested that Water Supply Operators might not be
fully prepared to do their job once qualified. More specifically, these reports mention that
the waste of resources and increase in equipment malfunction are potentially a result of
the operators not following procedures. This survey will confirm that the following tasks,
trained on the Water Supply Operator course, are actually being performed on the job:

a. T0001 - Determine water treatment requirements;

b. T0002 - Conduct RECCE for the location of a combat water supply point;

c. T0003 - Establish a combat water supply point; and

d. T0004 - Maintain water supply equipment.

3. This validation study is being conducted to determine if the graduates of Water


Supply Operator course are receiving training which meets the job requirements. From an
operational perspective, validations confirm if training has prepared graduates to do their
job.

4. Data from this survey, which will be kept confidential, will be used to identify
trends, draw conclusions and provide recommendations to improve said training. Your
responses will be treated as confidential. Your name will only be used for follow-up
purposes only. The information you provide will appear in the report and remain
anonymous.

5. Your experience since leaving the course and your participation in this survey can
have a significant role in improving future courses and, ultimately, the level of
preparedness for our soldiers deploying in operations.

6. The authority for this validation is Director Health Services Personnel (D H Svcs
Pers) Ottawa.

INSTRUCTIONS
7. The survey can only be completed using a DWAN computer. The following link
will take to the website where you will be asked to answer various demographic (part 1)
and training specific (part 2) questions. You can complete the survey in the language of
your choice by selecting the language on the main page.

8. This survey has 12 questions and can be completed in approximately 15 minutes.


Once completed, please click the “submit” button at the bottom of the page. You can also
“save” your progress and come back later if you need to.

9. We ask that you complete the survey NLT Thursday 25 Aug 2019. A reminder
will be sent out those who haven’t completed their survey one week prior to the deadline.

10. Should you have any questions related to this survey, or would like to know the
eventual findings of the report, contact WO Emil Taber, Validation Lead at CSN: 271-
