What activities does TDAP regularly undertake?

The Export Promotion Bureau, in Retrospect:

Set up in 1963 as an attached department of the Ministry of Commerce, the Export Promotion
Bureau facilitated exporters across the country. More than 20,000 exporters were facilitated
and part-funded to exhibit their goods abroad, and thus grow their exports. Over 2,000 trade
delegations were sent abroad or hosted in Pakistan in the 43 years of EPB. It provided a
forum for dispute resolution between exporters and importers through the mechanism of
commercial courts in collaboration with the judiciary.

EPB thus contributed in a significant manner, as Pakistan’s exports - reported at just under
quarter of a billion dollars in 1963 - increased by over 70 times to touch nearly US $ 16.5
billion in 2005/06. However, professional human resources were lacking at the times of EPB,
and so in order to improve this deficiency, and to change the image of EPB as a

CHAPTER NO # 05

CONCLUSION, RECOMMENDATIONS AND REFERENCES

5.1: Conclusion

As we know that any country can’t progress without trading with other countries. In pakistan
ministry of commerce is countinuesly working on trading with other countries by working in
each sector of trade. Pakistan is a peace oriented country with strong army power and also
with nueclear power which is a strength of pakistan for trading because trader believe that
pakistan can face his enemies in wars etc so they would trade with pakistan.

Pakistan has strong relations with other countries especially with China and Saudi Arabia.
China has invested a huge money by CPEC mega project and Suadi also helped pakistan
financially. The new prime minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has said that pakistan will focus
in trading and making good relations with nieghbours because nieghbours are arms of any
country.

As my intership conducted in Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) so i seen

that TDAP is focusing on export of over produced products, by that pakistan can get huge
profit and TDAP also encourage industries to make surplus production of demanded
products. TDAP also provide desired information to industries and also research that where is
demand of pakistani products and what are the surplus products of pakistan.

5.2: Recomendiations

 Time Management

As overall office worker are always racing against tight timeline and packed schedule.
A proper time management will minimize facing overdue deadlines. An effective time
management allows us to do our assignment efficiently and meet our schedule.
Scheduling avoids time wastage and allows us to plan ahead and gaining more as a
result.

21
INTERNSHIP REPORT ON MINISTRY OF COMMERCE

 Goal Management

Opposing to a herculean goal seemed to be reachable at first sight, it is better to sub-

divide the goals to a few achievable tasks, so then we will be more confident by
accomplish those tasks.

 Colleague Interaction

In working environment, teamwork is vital in contributing to a strong organization.

Teamwork is also essential in reaching the goals of organization as an entity. Thus,
communicating and sharing is much needed in the working environment. Therefore,
we should be respecting each other in work, and working together as a team, instead
of working alone. This is because working as a team is easier in reaching our targets,
rather than operating individually.
