Introduction
The company chosen for this assignment is an imaginary one, this exemplary company produces
medicines and is recently introduced in the market. Due to recent start, Staxel is looking forward to gain
popularity among other competitors and that is only possible by large sales done by the employees. In
order to encourage and motivate its employees, gamification can be implemented which will enhance the
results of sale ratios.
Challenge
Staxel Pharma, being a new company, couldn’t afford sales representatives having insufficient knowledge
or to be unaware of intricacies of its complex medical product line. As insufficient knowledge creates less
confidence in an employee, so in order to tackle such scenario certain solution was needed.
Gamification
In order to simplify the process, we can implement gamification technique and developing an application
(more like a game show) called Perfect Deal. This game application simulates conversing with a customer
and employees who perform well get awarded badges along with a prominent place on the leaderboard.
Along with that the employee will receive points, which he can use to redeem for certain products in
place like office’s cafeteria or tuck-shop. Badges will differ in value from, each badge earn can unlock
certain products comparable to the badge value. All employees are required to do is to answer the
questions of the customer accurately.
Game Mechanics Used
This application will include the following game mechanics, which will motivate the employee of Staxel
to gain more knowledge of their products.
Status – a Staxel employee will know the status of his score, thus it will assist the employee to reach a
certain goal. The status panel will also show the products which can be redeemed by the current points.
Progression – the display of progress following performance will show a leaderboard with respected
results of progresses made by employees. It will create an environment of competition for employees to
raise status in the progression panel.
Achievements – Achievements will show the current badges earned by the employee by answering the
game questions. Every achievement made by the employee will be displayed on the news feed of other
employee, which will be motivating factor for others.
Bonuses – these will be specified as the products which can be bought by redeeming the earned points,
this is the major factor that will make employee to play this game more and more.
Results
This game show like app did not only made learning a lot more fun, it also created a real-life scenario for
the sales representatives. They became more confident and motivated, it contributed in boosting their
productivity and knowledge in dealing with customers and it exponentially helped them achieve better
sales results, as a part of learning they also enjoy its perks of playing to earn benefits.
