THERE IS / THERE ARE
There is and There are / Quantifiers
• Singular: (There is = There’s) • Adjectives before nouns.
There’s a park in my neighborhood. • There’s a small park.
There’s an outdoor café. • There’s a beautiful pool.
There’s no mall. • There’s a new restaurant.
• There are some expensive stores.
• Plural:
There are a lot of restaurants.
There are some outdoor cafés.
There are a couple of movie theaters.
There are no clubs.
DESCRIBING A PLACE

Questions with What time
• What time is it? It’s 9:20.
• What time does the concert start? It starts at nine o’clock.
• What time do supermarkets close? It closes at about 10:00 p.m.
• What time do you go out at night? I usually go out around 8:00 or 8:30 p.m.
Complete the questions using What time and do or does.

1. A: Hey. There’s a jazz concert on Saturday. 3. A: Let’s go to the pool tomorrow.
