Single Point Mooring Systems Large PDF

Single Point Mooring (SPM) systems allow tankers to load and unload offshore without the need for jetties. An SPM consists of a buoy, mooring chains, and a subsea manifold connected to a pipeline. Tankers connect hoses to the buoy to transfer oil via the pipeline to shore terminals. SPM buoys can be turret or turntable designs that rotate to weathervane tankers. Proper surveys, certification, dredging, and flow assurance are required for safe and effective SPM project development and operation.
