Checklist - Distinguished Talent visa application

documents required for efficient priority processing

Form 1000 – completed and signed by an Australian citizen, resident, eligible New Zealand
citizen* or an Australian organisation with a national reputation in the same field as the applicant
to make a Nomination for Distinguished Talent and relevant supporting documents.
Copies of the biographical pages of the current passports or travel documents of all members of
family unit included in the application.
One recent passport-sized photographs (45 mm x 35 mm) of each person included in the
application.
Copies of marriage certificates, or relationship registrations for you and anyone else included in
your application, even if they are not joining you in Australia. Copies of divorce certificates
where applicable.
Copies of birth certificates of all applicants (members of family unit).
Character - Evidence that everyone included in the visa application has applied for an Australian
Federal Police National Police Check if they are at least 16 years of age and have spent a total of
12 months or more in Australia since turning 16 years of age.
 Police Clearance Certificates receipts, if applied for but not received.
Character - Police certificates from each country in which anyone in your application has spent a
total of 12 months or more in the past 10 years since turning 16 years of age.
English language ability – evidence of functional English. Including evidence of secondary
applicant/s functional English.
For anyone included in the application who is 18 years of age or older and is not your partner:
Form 47a Details of child or other dependent family member aged 18 years or over (238 kB PDF).

Global Talent assessment documents (examples of evidence to be provided).


Record of achievement documents
You must prove your achievements in an eligible field.
Curriculum Vitae/ Resume
 Evidence of your achievements in an eligible field and current prominence, which may
include: References and/or supporting letters from peers/employers in their area of
expertise. Links to websites that demonstrate what they have done/do, including media
articles or published academic works (if applicable). Awards or other relevant
achievements, including invitations to speak at conferences or where they have led key
contingents.
If you are younger than 18 or older than 55, you must prove you would be of exceptional benefit
to the Australian community.

Ability to establish yourself in Australia

You must prove you are able to work or support yourself in your field of achievement.
letters from organisations or other relevant bodies in Australia that show future
employment opportunities or possible business opportunities.
qualifications or experience you have gained during previous residence in Australia.
your employment or business background.

Other information
Provide international travel history for the past 10 years.
For PhD students (who will complete their qualification in the next 6 months) attach
evidence of educational qualifications under the Record of Achievements field.
If you have received a PhD, Masters or Honours qualification in the past 3 years - attach
evidence of educational qualifications under the Record of Achievements field.
Translation and copies of all original documents, including transcripts, awards, publications
etc.
