Compito di Fisica II per Ingegneria I Sessione Estiva, A.A.

2007/2008

Cognome e Nome __________________________ Matricola _______________

I Problema The plates of a capacitors are two equal squares with side L=20 cm. The distance among
them is h=2 cm. A rectangular dielectric slab is inserted, with side lengths L and L/2. The slab width is
d=0.5 cm, the dielectric constant is k=1.66. A constant potential V=12 Vis applied to the capacitor.
Compute:

1) The capacity C .
2) The charge Q on each plate.
3) The electric field EP inside the dielectric. h d V
4) The polarization charge (QP) on the top and on the bottom faces
of the slab

II Problema A conducting bar with side L=40 cm, mass m = 0.3 Kg and resistance R= 50 W is free to
slide with negligible friction along the trails of a rail. An uniform and omogeneous magnetic field B=2.5T
is perpendicular to the rail plain, and entering, as in the figure. Another bar as long as the first one, and
paralled to it, is fixed to the trails. The second bar has negligible resistance. A constant force F=6 N is
applied to the moving bar, which in the long term keeps moving with constant speed v 0 . Compute
1) The current intensity i0 along the moving bar
2) Its direction (upwards/downward)
3) The value of v0
4) At a certain time F stops acting. Find how much time (T 1/2) it takes the bar to halve its speed.
