GETTING TO KNOW EACH OTHER
The overall aim of this unit is to get to know each other and to express ourselves in English.

Learning outcomes
By the end of this unit you will be able to:

1. Confidently spell your name and last name.


2. Introduce yourself and listen to someone’s introduction identifying relevant
information.
3. Recognize ten new words and spell them.
4. To ask questions and get information from someone.
5. To describe places, animals and things.
6. To identify the basic rules of pronunciation.

Target group
This unit is designed for a group of professionals of legal age who are in different parts of
America. The following grammatical components have been taken into account, all
corresponding to level A1:

• Possessive Adjectives and Pronouns.


• Possessive nouns.
• Verb To Be.
• WH Questions.
• Prepositions of Time.

Duration
This unit has been planned for nine hours of class. The time will be divided into three
classes and in each meeting two learning outcomes will be achieved.


Training methods
This unit has been planned with a task-based methodology supported by information and
communication technologies.
