Notice on Halls of Residence


1. The Halls of residence has been kept under lock since March 14 th of 2020 and it is unlikely to be
opened till January 2021 or may extend beyond given the pandemic situation.
2. The Chhattisgarh Government has acquired the possession of the Hostels under the provisions of
National Disaster Management Act and has requested to clear and keep the rooms ready for
accommodating the COVID 19 patients.
3. The University has also noticed water seepage and fungus infection in some of the rooms due to the
unprecedented rains and require urgent cleaning and sanitization.
4. The University has devised three options to vacate the rooms as follows:
A. Students or authorized persons from them to come and clear the belongings within two weeks
from the day of this notice.
B. To authorize any packers and movers including courier services like Blue Dart or DTDC to clear
the belongings.
C. The University will clear the contents and keep them in safe custody if options A or B are not
exercised by the students.
5. All the students who opt for ‘C’ are required to send the keys to the Registrar. If there is no response
on this in two weeks, the University will engage a lock smith to open the rooms. The University will
not be liable for the damage or breaking of the lock.
6. If there are HNLU library books in the room it will be returned to the library and accounted.
7. Further queries or issues on the above can be addressed to Dr. Y. Papa Rao, and Dr. Kiran Kori the
respective wardens at the campus.
