The basic concept of swish animations

Do not forget these…

The animation created is called a Movie. Within each Movie is a collection of Scenes.
Each Scene has a Timeline consisting of multiple Frames.

During the Timeline of each Scene, you place objects (e.g. text, images, etc.) to which
you apply Effects. These Effects will start and stop at particular Frames and can be
controlled by inserting Actions and Events.

Swish ControlPanel
time line

All the effects and action for swish animations are controlled in the timeline. The
background of the movies can be set in the background panel.
From the swish control panel, click the movie pane as shown below. Here, you can
control or modify the background color of your movie, as well as the dimensions.

Set the dimension of your

movie here.

Begin your first animation.

For this exercise, we will create a dynamic effects in your text.

Step 1. From the control panel, select the text button.

modify this. This text is

automatically created when
you click the text button
Forthis example, the text character was modified to “Michael” text character as
shown below:

Step 2. To apply effects on this text, right click at the 5 th column of the time
frame. But be sure that the word “Michael” is selected. Thus, you
are working currently on this text.

Pull down menu appeared when you do the right click on this column (5 th column
or what ever column number in the time line).
Step 3. Scroll down and select “Squeeze” effect.

You will notice, squeeze effect for the text “Michael” is now applied. Take a look
at the timeline. The default value or number of frames is “20”. The bigger the
value, the slower would be the animation. You can adjust the size of your frame
by just dragging the “grip” either to the right or left of your yimeline.

20 frames are
created by default
drag either to the right or to the left to adjust the number of frames in the timeline.

Step 4. Select “Squeeze back lift” and then click “Ok” button to accept.

Step 5. Run your application or movie by clicking the “Play scene” button.
