Active Transport Worksheet: Exo-Endo

Active transport requires energy, usually ATP, while passive transport does not. Active transport moves molecules against their concentration gradient from lower to higher concentration, examples being endocytosis and exocytosis. Passive transport moves molecules down their concentration gradient from higher to lower concentration via diffusion or osmosis. Endocytosis and exocytosis can occur within the same cell to take in and expel materials.
