Title: Management Information System of Binangonan Catholic College

The application of good MIS will certainly generate reports compilation of data that is managed
by qualified and comprehensive database. This can be achieved for each of the reporting process is
executed automatically by computer machines.

The computer technology in this modern civilization is one of the most useful and successful
tools that leads the world to a brighter and better future for many generations.

According to Morris, the development and management of information technology tools assist
executives and the general workforce in performing any tasks related to the processing of information.
MIS systems are especially useful in the collation of business data and the production of reports to be
used as tools for decision making.1

As stated by Laudon, Management Information System is a field of science that studies on how
better we can manage technologies and how better we can design information systems, in order to
enhance a firm effectiveness, efficiency and profitability.2

The MIS is the product of multi-disciplinary approach to the management. It is a product which
needs to be kept under a constant review and modification to meet the corporate needs of the
information. It is prescribed product design for the organization. This system maybe the same on some
applications but it differs greatly in the contents.

Therefore, MIS is subject to change, time and again, with a change in management process. It
continuously interacts with the internal and external environment of the management process and
provides corrective mechanism in the system so that the change needs of information are effectively.

According to the study of Oz entitled Management Information Systems states that people
require information for many and varied reasons. For instance, you probably seek information for
entertainment, seeing movies, browsing the Internet, listening to the radio, and reading newspapers,
magazines, and books. In business, however, people and organizations seek and making problem
solving-two closely related practices that form the foundation of every successful company.3
In this literature, information is an important factor in management. Many organizations and
companies are now evolved originating from a manual keeping of records to a computerize keeping of
records.

Another study of OZ which states that a system is an array of components that work together to
achieve a common goal, or multiple goals, by accepting input, processing it, and producing output in an
organized manner.4

The structure of IS Management tends to be mirrored in the information system architecture.

Companies with centralized IS management tend to have centralize IS architecture, and companies with
decentralized IS management tend to have decentralized IS architecture, although exceptions may be
found. Remember that architecture does not strictly dictate how systems are managed but architecture
always has an impact on the way access to data is controlled.5

This proves that MIS can improve the way of processing and organizing many types of records
like classifying information from general to specific.

As reiterated by Llga, et al said that the successful information of any project is directly
attributable to the quality of design and architecture of the proposed solution, any inherent design flaws
at this stage are likely to lead more serious problems not just during but also post implementation.
Upgrading the system requires eliminating its past problems, meets its present demand and must be
also effective in its future operations as its technology advances. Significant values of upgrading the
system should be determined first before its application with the future in mind not just the moment in
mind.6

With regards in this literature it states that it is very important to upgrade and develop new
system for success procedures in our study.

In addition as stated by Llaga, et al MIS is a formal method of making available to management,

the accurate and timely information necessary to facilitate the decision making process and enable the
organizational function to be carried out effectively.7
