MC 11 89 Allowing BSECE Graduates To Take Commercial Radiotelephone Operator Exam

This memorandum circular allows graduates with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering to take the commercial radio telephone operator's examination. It does so in order to comply with laws requiring radio station operators to hold commercial radio telephone operator certificates. To take the exam, graduates must provide proof of their degree, completion of training on radio laws and regulations, and certification from their employer that they are performing duties as a radio operator.

MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR

NO. 11-89

SUBJECT: ALLOWING GRADUATES IN BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN


ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATIONS ENGINEERING (ECE)
COURSE TO TAKE THE COMMERCIAL RADIO TELEPHONE
OPERATOR’S EXAMINATION BEING CONDUCTED BY THE
COMMISSION.

In the interest of the service and in order that graduates of Electronics and
Communications Engineering (ECE) course who are required to be holders of
Commercial Radiotelephone Operator’s Certificate to operate radio stations in
accordance with the provisions of the Radio Control Law, Act No. 3846 and Department
Order No. 5 (Rules and Regulations Governing Commercial Radio Operators) be allowed
to take the regular commercial radiotelephone operator’s examination being conducted by
the Commission subject to the following guidelines:

1. The applicant must be an Electronics & Communications Engineering


graduate with a valid Special Order No. from the Department of
Education, Culture and Sports;

2. The applicant should have undergone a training/seminar on radio laws and


regulations; and

3. Certification from his her employer that he/she is performing the duties of
radio operator.
