Mixolydian Mode in All Keys

The Mixolydian scale is a modal scale derived from ancient Greek music. It has the same notes as a major scale but with a flattened 7th degree. The Mixolydian scale has the interval pattern of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, b7. It is very similar to the major scale but differs by only one note. Examples are provided of the Mixolydian scales starting on different root notes along with their note names.

Mixolydian mode
The Mixolydian Scale (or mode) is one of the modal scales. They all origins from ancient Greek music and
are used in modern music like jazz and funk. You may recognize the dominant pattern in the interval: 1 2

3 4 5 6 b7. Compare this to the dominant 7th chord with scale steps 1 3 5 b7.

The Mixolydian scales are very easy to learn as you will see when comparing them with the major scales. The difference

between C major and C Mixolydian is only one note, the seventh note in the scale. You may also notice that G Mixolydian
relates to the scale C major scale, the notes are the same only the root have changed place. In the same manner, the C

Mixolydian is related to the scale F major as you can see.
