Power Distribution Equipment
The party shall note and confirm the following:

1. 3.2 System voltage for LT system shall be 440 V and not 415 V.
2. 4.1 Separate control and relay panel for the one no. additional VCB
(extension panel) shall be provided for the coke oven substation
(non essential). For the extension panel at 11 kV BF-2
substation, integral type VCB panel shall be provided. Separate
control and relay panel for this VCB is not required. However,
only a separate control switch along with associated cabling
shall be included by the tenderer in their scope.
3. 4.1 The total width of the VCB panel along with the adaptor panel
shall be restricted to 1200 mm.
4. - Wall mounted remote control panel with TNC switches shall be
provided in the switchgear room for 11 kV and 3.3 kV panels.
For 3.3 kV motors, TNC switch shall be provided near the
motors. The local control stations shall also have ammeter and
emergency stop push button.
5. 4.1 The insulation for 1.1 kV LT Power cables shall be XLPE and
not PVC.
6. 4.3 The list of commissioning spares indicated in the tender is
minimum only. All spares required during commissioning shall
be in the scope of the tenderer.
7. 4.3 The list of 2 year spares shall be in line with the TS.
8. 4.3 First fill of oil with 10% excess in drums shall be provided for
transformers.
9. - Supply and installation of complete earthing system for the
substations shall be in the scope of the tenderer.
10. - Minor civil works such as grouting of inserts, putting pipe
inserts for cable entry, and minor modifications in foundations
(if necessary) shall be in the scope of the tenderer.
11. 5.1 All relays shall be microprocessor based numerical and
communicable type (with communication ports).
12. 5.1 Sheet steel thickness of the switchboard shall be as per TS.
 Doors and covers – 2mm
 Other load bearing members – 2.5 mm
13. 5.1 Circuit breakers shall have service, test and drawout position.
14. 5.1 CBs shall have motor operated spring charged independent
closing and shunt tripping coil.
15. 5.1 Busbar shall be of EC grade aluminum alloy equivalent to
E91EWP as per IS 5082 – 1981.
16. 5.1 Rated short circuit breaking capacity shall be 26.2 kA and 40
kA for 3 sec for 3.3 kV and 11 kV respectively.
17. 5.3 The neutral of the 11/3.45 kV transformer shall be solidly
earthed.
18. 5.7 The DCDB shall have 2 incomers. The rating of each incoming
MCCB shall be 250 Amps. The DCDB shall have double
busbar arrangement. Each outgoing circuit shall be connected to
both the sets of bus bars through selector switch.
19. 5.8 Copper screen in the HT cables shall be suitable to carry 1 kA
E/F current for 1 second.
20. 6 Battery earth fault relay shall be provided separately and not
through PCB cards.
21. 6 The output voltage of battery chargers shall be adjustable in the
range of 90-120% as specified.
22. - Microprocessor based direct acting releases shall be provided in
the outgoing ACBs only. Incomer and buscoupler shall be
provided with communicable type numerical relays.
23. List of makes The list of makes for power distribution shall be strictly in line
with clause 9.0 of the TS. However, the following makes shall
be included for Capacitor Bank:
Unistar / ABB / BHEL / Khatau
24. - Supply and installation of Push button station with trip PBs in
the transformer room for tripping of upstream breaker shall be
in the tenderer’s scope.
25. - Items not specifically mentioned but required for successful
completion of the works shall deemed to be included in the
scope of work of the tenderer.
26. - Unit rates for all the major items shall be indicated for any
addition / deletion during the execution of the project.
27. - Transformer losses for all ratings shall be indicated.
Capitalization of losses shall be done in accordance with clause
3.2.19 of the TS.
28. - Confirm the complete scope of work as per clause 2.2.2 of TS.
29. - Confirm that the specification of equipment shall be as per
clause 3.0 of TS, except for mutually agreed deviations.
30. - The cable sizes and number of cables connected in each cubicle,
meter scales, relay and release ranges, CT ratios as shown in the
tender drawings are indicative only and shall be finalized during
detail engineering. No extra claims on this account shall be
acceptable.
31. - The tenderer to confirm submission of all drawings as per
clause 2.3.1 and the assignment drawings as per clause 2.2.4 of
the TS after placement of order.
32. - The quantity of 11 kV and 3.3 kV cables are indicative only and
shall be as per actual requirements. No claim for extra payment
shall be considered for this.
