OBJECTIVES
At the end of the class, the students are expected to be able to:
a. Recall the definition of verb by listening to the “Verb Rap Song
b. Appreciate verbs through making a conversation among friends about
high school life with the correct usage of verbs.
c. Transform present tense sentences to past tense sentences and vice
versa.

C. Activity
The teacher will play the music video “Verb Rap Song”. The students will
recall the definition and importance of verb through the video viewed.

The teacher will discuss the lesson.
o Verbs are part of speech that express physical actions, which
include the way of giving information or creating an explanation.
o Present Tense- a tense expressing an action that is currently going
on or habitually performed, or a state that currently or generally
exists.
o Past tense verbs refer to actions or events in the past. They can be
regular verbs that simply end with a "d" or an "ed" or they can be
irregular and change their spelling to show the past tense.

F. Application
The students will find a pair, they are tasked to transform the present
tense sentences to past tense sentences and vice versa.
Sentences to be transformed:
Present to Past
She eats the food.
He plays at the park
It doesn’t want to get in the cage.
Past to Present
They grabbed the opportunity.
She climbed at the Narra tree.
He caught them cheating.
G. Evaluation
In a whole sheet of paper, the students must form a group consisting four
members. They will be tasked to make a conversation about their high
school life in DCNHS. The students must make use of present tense and
past tense sentences.
H. Assignment
The students will read a story, they will transform the present tense words
that are found in the story into past tense sentence.
My Life Story
My name is Robert. I live in this house. That is my dog. His name is Finn.
He likes sleeping. He usually sleeps under the tree. I have a lot of
friends. I often play football with them. I always call them when I want to
play in the park. I never go to park alone. My father works in a bank. He
usually comes home late. He likes sitting here and reading books. He
sometimes sleeps when he reads. He doesn't like playing football or
watching it on TV. My mother is a teacher. She teaches English and she
likes her students very much. She cooks delicious food for me. I love her
so much but she doesn't let me eat much junk food. Does your mother let
you?
