Systems Development Engineer UC 2020
Are you ready to create systems to power one of the largest e-commerce companies in the world?
Amazon.com has over 70 million customers, and developers all over the world rely on our storage,
compute, and virtualised services via Amazon Web Services. We support systems at massive, and ever-
growing, scale. We rapidly integrate new technologies to expand our customer offerings. Our success
depends on our world-class network infrastructure and our goal is to become “The Infrastructure
Platform” for the world.
We are looking for a Systems Development Engineer who is result-oriented, innovative and sees
automation as a way of life. You enjoy the challenge of operating some of the largest, distributed
systems on the planet such as multi-terabyte storage farms and/or horizontally scaled request
processing fleets. You detest outages and high latency, so take pleasure in doing deep dives to find and
eliminate root causes of problems. You keep up to pace with the ever changing world of Cloud
computing. You create tools to enhance efficiency for building new Cloud regions with highly scalable
and high performing Monitoring services.
You’ll get to work with experienced Software Engineers to design, build, and manage highly scaled
Monitoring services. You will be responsible for automating all aspects of system management and look
for ways to optimise performance of our services. You will play a key role in building Monitoring services
in new Cloud regions efficiently and scale capacity in existing regions as their usage grows. You will have
opportunities to deep dive on complex operation issues and drive the root cause and resolution.
