Writing Linear Equations: X X M y y

The document discusses writing linear equations in different forms: slope-intercept, point-slope, and standard form. It provides examples of equations written in each form and explains what information each form provides, such as the slope and y-intercept. Students are asked to arrange example equations in the correct form columns. They are also given examples of finding the equation of a line given its graph, explaining how to determine the intercepts and slope to write the equation in different forms.

 Linear  Equations
Start  by  stressing  the  importance  of  understanding  the  differences  forms  of  a  linear  equation  because  it  will  help
in  writing  equations.
Arrange  the  given  linear  equations,  1-‐9,  so  they  are  in  the  column  corresponding  to  their  form.
