1. Drill. Before introducing the Prime Factorization. The teacher tasks the students to solve the

B. Developmental Activities

1. Presentation

 Prime Factorization means we are going to find all the factors of a number that are all prime.
  FACTORS are numbers we multiply together to get another number for example 4, the factors
are 1 x 4, 2 x 2.
 COMPOSITE is appositive integers that can be formed by multiplying two smaller positive
integers.

Example 4, 8, 12, 16, 20

 PRIME is a number greater than 1 that is not a product of two smaller natural numbers.

Example 1,3,5,7,11,13,17…

 FACTOR TREE is a diagram used to determine the prime factors of a natural number greater that
one.
Example:

2. Activity Proper

The teacher task to group the class into 4. Each group will be given their activity materials that they
would use to their solving. The students are expected to present their output in front of the class.

After the activity the students are expected to discuss their out in front of the class. The teacher is
tasked to evaluate the performance of the students.

6. Applying to new and Other Situations

Samantha has two pieces of cloth. One piece is 72 inches wide and the other piece is 90 inches wide. She
wants to cut both pieces into strips of equal width as possible. How wide should she cut the strips?

It is really important to equal the things like cloths so that it will cut it fairly the inches wide cloths into
strips. As a student how will you factorize the number?
