Activity 1: Flash Card Solve The Given Equations. 1. 5 X 4 2. 6 X 5 3. 4 X 6 4. 3 X 7
I. Learning Objectives:
At the end of the discussion, the students will be able to:
Define prime factorization.
Explain how prime factorization is used in real life.
Solve for the prime factorization.
A. Preparatory Activities
1. Drill. Before introducing the Prime Factorization. The teacher tasks the students to solve the
given equation.
1. 5x4
2. 6x5
3. 4x6
4. 3x7
2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16 18 20
3 6 9 12 15 18 21 24 27 30
3. Motivation
The class are task to arrange the scramble letters, arrange the letters to form a meaningful
word. (Critical Thinking)
1. RPIEM
2. OMCPOSTIE
3. AFCTROS
4. FACROT REET
B. Developmental Activities
1. Presentation
Prime Factorization means we are going to find all the factors of a number that are all prime.
FACTORS are numbers we multiply together to get another number for example 4, the factors
are 1 x 4, 2 x 2.
COMPOSITE is appositive integers that can be formed by multiplying two smaller positive
integers.
PRIME is a number greater than 1 that is not a product of two smaller natural numbers.
Example 1,3,5,7,11,13,17…
FACTOR TREE is a diagram used to determine the prime factors of a natural number greater that
one.
Example:
8 6
4 2 3 2
2 2
2. Activity Proper
The teacher task to group the class into 4. Each group will be given their activity materials that they
would use to their solving. The students are expected to present their output in front of the class.
GROUP 1
GROUP 2
GROUP 3
3. Processing the Activities
After the activity the students are expected to discuss their out in front of the class. The teacher is
tasked to evaluate the performance of the students.
Discuss with the learners the ways on how they were able to solve for the problems.
Ask the students fi they understand the topic, what they’ve learned in the topic and how did they apply
this topic in real life situation. The teacher is task to pick randomly the student to give their point. (give
points for those who participate)
Prime Factorization means we are going to find all the factors of a number that are all prime.
FACTORS are the numbers you multiply together to get another number.
Samantha has two pieces of cloth. One piece is 72 inches wide and the other piece is 90 inches wide. She
wants to cut both pieces into strips of equal width as possible. How wide should she cut the strips?
It is really important to equal the things like cloths so that it will cut it fairly the inches wide cloths into
strips. As a student how will you factorize the number?
C. ASSESSMENT
The students are task to answer the given equation. (5 minutes to finish the task)
D. Home Activity
1. 34
2. 160
3. 150
4. 200
5. 124
