13. Using Newton-Raphson method, find a root of the

14. Using matrix inversion method, solve the following


system of linear equations.

15. Derive a general formula for numerical integration


using Newton's forward difference formula.

22. (a) The mean and standard deviation of 200
items are found to be 60 and 20. If, at the
time of calculation, two items are wrongly
taken as 3 and 67 instead of 13 and 17, find

(b) Define rth central moment and rth moment
about any point and establish a relation
between them.
23. One factory F1 produces 1000 articles, 20 of them
being defective, second factory F2 produces 4000
articles, 40 of them are defective and third factory
F3 produces 5000 articles, 50 of them being
defective. All these articles are put in one stock
pile and one is chosen and found defective. What is
the probability that it is from factory F1?
24. Find the correlation co-efficient between x and y
from the following table.
