Vivek Rai JL19PG181: Research Paper 1

The document summarizes two research papers on depression among college students. The first paper studied depression levels among social science students in Purulia district, West Bengal, India. It found no significant gender difference in depression, but found that male students, arts students, and rural students exhibited higher depression levels. The second paper examined prevalence of depression among students in Amritsar, Punjab, India. It found depression was more common in social science students compared to medical students, and that family history of depression and relationship issues increased depression risk. Both studies used survey methods and random sampling to assess depression among college students.
