Comparison Welding Wire A5.18-ER70S-3 - A5.18-ER70S-6

This document provides information on welding wire types A5.18-ER70S-3 and A5.18-ER70S-6. It lists the chemical composition requirements and typical deposited chemical composition for each type. Both types are carbon steel wires suitable for mig welding, but type ER70S-6 has higher levels of manganese and silicon which make it more suitable for welding steels with rust or scale. The document also provides mechanical property data for deposited weld metals of each type. VPIC1 proposes to use welding wire type ER70S-3, which is their current production wire.
