puttu powder, idly powder, appam powder, etc.
PLANT DETAILS:
For this industry they get supply for 33kv/11kv substation form there to
reduce voltage step down transformers with kva rating of 950 is used with
reduced voltage of 3 phase supply 415v figure of transformer attaching below.
They use remote on load tap changing for transformer for any voltage
changes needed for them.
LOAD DETAILS:
Tariff - 7.65 Rs/kwh (category - II(A) HT, as per APSPDCL)-OFF PEAK
8.65 Rs/kwh ( TOD) - PEAK
Fixed charges/month - Rs.475/kw.
Plant is working for 24hrs * 7 days.
Contract demand - 650KVA, 75% of contract demand - 488KVA, 130% of
contract demand - 845KVA.
Monthly energy (approx) = 350kwh
Monthly energy charges (approx) = Rs 2.5lakhs.
Monthly fixed charges (approx) = Rs 1lakh.
Power factor = 0.97 - they maintain power factor above 0.95 by using
Automatic power factor control panel ( apfc panel ) having different types
of capacitor banks like 25kvar, 20kvar etc. Automatically switch on
different capacitor banks depending upon power factor they get at output.

PRODUCTION PROCESS:
First raw material (chilly) needed in bulk are cleared, roasted, crushed,
powdered, packed and dispached to furthur packing. The distribution is
handled by themselfs. The company has a production capacity of 20 tons
per day. Below flowchart shows the process from raw material to fine
powder.
There three types of cutting such as first red chilies cut into chili flakes and
in second cutting semi powder and in third cutting fine chilli powder will
produce as shown below
Small chili powder production line:
Below figure shows small chili powder production line. Capacity of this is
1 tones per day. If we want to produce more high rated machines can be
used.
Chili drying:
Is raw chili containing moisture content too high, this type of dryer is
used to dry chilies for further process.
Milling and shifting system:
This system consist of milling, shifting and dust collect part. In
milling part chili can cut using some rollers, and in shifting part chili can be
shifted to grind to fine powder. In dust collector dust is filtered by passing
chili in high pressure pulse deduster
Different type of motors used in this process for cutting, powdering, drying,
Cleaning, grinding, cooling motors such as stepper motors for packing,
3phase induction motor rating up to 25hp for grinding purpose. Gear
motors also used. They use motors form range 5hp to 25hp. Stater also
used to start induction motor up to 5hp they are using direct online stater
more than 5hp they are using star-delta stater. And also there are using
programmable logic controller ( plc ) for controlling motors and other
applications
