Basic commands

CTRL + S Save workbook


CTRL + O Open existing workbook
CTRL + P Print workbook
CTRL + F4 Close workbook
CTRL + N Open new (standard) workbook
CTRL + F6 Switch between several open workbooks
CTRL + Z Undo
F1 Help

Moving between worksheets and workbooks

CTRL + Home Jump to beginning of worksheet


CTRL + End Jump to end of worksheet (the last cell filled)
Home Jump to beginning of the row
CTRL + Arrow Key Jump, in the direction of the arrow, to the end of the current data
section, i.e. to the beginning of the next section
CTRL + Page Up/Down Switch to next/previous worksheet in the workbook

Selecting in worksheets and workbooks

CTRL + A Single print: Select data section


where the cursor is located
Double print: Select entire worksheet
CTRL + Shift + Arrow Key Extend selection to the last filled cell in
the same column or row as the active cell
CTRL + Shift + Home Extend selection to the beginning of
the worksheet
CTRL + Shift + Arrow Key Extend selection to the start of
the worksheet

Entering data

ALT + Return Start a new row in the same cell


ESC Cancel cell entry
F2 Edit cell
Shift + F2 Edit cell comment
CTRL + . Inserts the current date
CTRL + : Inserts the current time
ALT + = Adds calculation function
Editing the table structure

CTRL + X Cut
CTRL + C Copy

CTRL + (plus sign) Add selected cell area (e.g. row/column) in front of the selected area
CTRL + (minus sign) Delete selected cell area (e.g. row/column)
CTRL + 9 Hide rows
CTRL + Shift + 9 Unhide rows
CTRL + 8 Hide columns
CTRL + Shift + 8 Unhide columns

Formatting data

CTRL + 1 Open "Format Cells" dialogue window


CTRL + Shift + $ Currency format [€] with two decimal places
CTRL + Shift + % Percentage format without decimal places
CTRL + Shift + ! Number format with two decimal places and a 1,000 separator
CTRL + Shift + - Add a full border
CTRL + Shift + Alt + - Delete all borders
CTRL + B Format text in bold
CTRL + I Format text in italics
CTRL + U Underline text
