What is Government?
State- is a political community that involves four important elements, namely, people, territory, sovereignty and
government.
Government- serves as the bridge that connects the people to the state.
Governance- determines who has power, who makes decisions, how other players their voice heard and how account is
rendered. Governance arises when the government involves the people in its agenda and in the process of policy making.

II. LESSON PROPER:
Political Science- is social science discipline that studies the state and the government.
1. Philosophical Tradition (Political Philosophy)- regarded as the tradition approach to politics. This tradition
underscored the analytical study of doctrines that become the major focus of political thought.
2. Empirical Tradition- politics can be also studied through this tradition. This theory focuses on the observation and
explanation of political phenomenon and involves formulating and testing hypotheses through experimentation.
3. Scientific Tradition- this tradition promotes objective and quantifiable ways of studying politics.
