1. About Quantitative Technique Course

This course imparts conceptual understanding and applications of various mathematical techniques
for better decision making business problems. The course is application oriented and helps to
structure, analyze and solve real life decision making situations.

2. Course Learning Objectives mapped to Programme Learning Objectives (PLOs)

i. An understanding of the rules for solving a system of equations and the application of
matrices in business
ii. To identify situations in which linear programming can be applied, to recognize and
formulate transportation and assignment problems. Also, appreciate the assumptions of this
technique to for better decision making (PLO1b)
iii. An understanding of the concept of various simulation techniques and also examine
situations that generate queueing models.
iv. An understanding of how to construct decision trees for making decisions and also to
understand the basic principles of game theory.

PLO 1b: Our graduates will be able to generate alternatives for effective problem solving.
