4th Grade Weekly Newsletter

Fourth Grade Achievers January 11th-15th Week 17

What We Are Learning


Math: This week we will be continuing working on geometry by working on angles and
different measurements. Students will be taking a quiz on Friday for this chapter.
Students will also be taking their Math ISIP on Monday 1/11.

Science: This week we will continue working on our current chapter on Plants and
Animals within our Life Science unit. We will finish up talking about Plant and Animal
Characteristics with a science quiz on Thursday 1/14.

Social Studies: This week students will analyze the role of pirates in Florida’s history.
They will identify the impact of influential pirates and the contributions they made
throughout history.

Reading: This week we started reading “The Longest Night”, we also took our reading
ISIP. We will finish reading our story next week and be tested over what we read. We will
then start reading our next story called “Three Native Nations.”

Writing: This week we talked about grammar and focused on capitalization. We


worked on fixing sentences with grammatical errors in them. Next week we will
continue to work on the topic of grammar and why it is so important to know.
