Memorial University has three semesters per academic year commencing with Fall Semester (Fall: September - December; Winter: January - April; and
Spring: May - August)
Special Fees - in addition to semester fee above, the following programs charge a special fee:
Continuance Fees: Students who do not complete their programs in the number of semesters listed above will be required to pay a continuance fee for
each additional semester required as listed below.
Distance Courses and Special Delivery Fees - Distance Education Administration Fee suspended for Winter 2021
The cost of program courses is included in the program fee. However, there is a charge for distance courses and certain special delivery courses for certain
student cohorts. Consult the academic unit of interest to see if a fee is charged.
International Health Insurance and Medical Care Plan (MCP) (international students)
International students are advised to contact the Internationalization Office for current rates for international health insurance - www.mun.ca/isa.
All international students with a study permit valid for 12 months or longer must apply for the Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Care Plan.

The following are the only programs for which full-time Master’s students are eligible to choose Plan C:
• Master of Applied Statistics
• Master of Arts, non-thesis route, in Anthropology (Social/Cultural), Economics, English Language and Literature, Environmental Policy,
Political Science, Religious Studies and Sociology
• Master of Arts (German Language and Literature)
• Master of Arts (History)
• Master of Arts (Philosophy)
• Master of Business Administration (Social Enterprise and Entrepreneurship)
• Master of Education (Educational Technology) for students receiving advanced standing for UCCB certificate in education - technology
• Master of Environmental Science
• Master of Occupational Health and Safety
• Master of Public Health (Population and Public Health)
• Master of Science, non-thesis route, in Mathematics
• Master of Social Work
