The Teaching Profession

I identify most with existentialism. Existentialism values individuality and authenticity above all else. It believes that through freely choosing our purpose and values, we can find meaning in life. An existentialist approach to education would give students wide options to choose from and help them become fully realized individuals.

CHAPTER 1 – YOU, THE TEACHER, AS A PERSON IN SOCIETY
MODULE 1 – THE PHILOSOPHICAL HERITAGE
REFLECTION

Today educational system and its students does not allow for antiquated and
traditional setting and behaviors. The structural setting no longer requires students to stay
seated in straight rows while the teacher lectures. Because today’s students are different
the learning must be different to presented in a manner at the students’ level of
understanding.

Teachers must utilize various pedagogical methods to must the varying needs of
the learners. The learners must be actively engaged in the process of learning which
includes but not limited to developing critical thinking skills through open dialogue and
peer interaction. In additions teachers ask through provoking, deep, proving questions
which extends the learners thinking.

In this lesson I had learn that, teachers must educate themselves to become
familiar with today’s student and their learning styles. Understanding learning styles
assists the teacher with the improvement of instructional delivery and over all classroom
management.

B. With which philosophy do you associate the following questions?

1." Education is life not a preparation for life". – Dewey

PROGRESSIVISM: Education is a lifetime process with no true beginning. Education consist

of experience, environment socialization and communication. Progressivist believed that people
learn best from what they consider most relevant to their lives, PROGRESSIVISM center their
curricula on the needs, experiences, interests, and of students.

2. " Man is nothing else but what he makes of himself ". - Sartre

ESSENTIALISM: Man is basically what he makes of himself, and thus is responsible for his
action. This quotation states that, men are free to choose to create their own purpose in life. It is
up to each of us to decide what we do with our life that we have freedom to shape out future.

3. "Gripping and enduring interests frequently grow out of initial learning efforts that are
not appealing or attractive.”

ESSENTIALISM: "Gripping and enduring interests frequently grow out of initial learning
efforts that are not appealing or attractive" William Bagley Essentialism refers to the"
traditional" or "Back to the Basics" approach to education. It is so named because it strives to
instill students with the "essential" of academic knowledge and character development. This
quotation states that, the control, direction, and guidance of the immature by the mature is
inherently the prolonged period infancy or necessary dependence peculiar TI the human species.
4. " Give me dozen of healthy infants, well informed, and my own specified world to bring
them up in and I'll guarantee that to take anyone at random and train him to become any
type of specialist might select - doctor, lawyer, artist, merchant - Chief, and yes even
beggar - man and thief, regardless of his talents penchant, tendencies, abilities vocations,
and race of his ancestors.

BEHAVIORISM: This quotation states that, any person can be trained to perform any task,
regardless of things like genetic background, personality traits, and internal thoughts and (with
the limits of their physical capabilities), all it takes is the right conditioning.

5." Existence precedes essence." Sartre

EXISTENTIALISM: "Existence precedes essence means that personality is not built over a
previously designed model or a precise purpose, because it is the human being who chooses to
inhale in such enterprise ". It says that human is responsible for himself, and for all men. And
that is what existentialist believed in. They believe that humans define their own meaning in life.

6. " Life is what you make it" - William Thackeray

EXISTENTIALISM: Means that when things occur in your life, it is your perspective that
governs your feelings about what happens. Whatever life gives you, in every situation, it is our
decision what kind of response are we going to do.

7. "Listening in dialogue and is listening more to meaning than the words... In true
listening, we reach behind the words, see through them, to find the person who is being
revealed. Listening is a search to find the treasure of the true persons and revealed verbally
and not - verbally ". - John Powell

LINGUISTIC PHILOSOPHY: listening has a great power. It draws thoughts and feelings out
of the people as nothing else can. When someone listen to you well, you become aware of
feelings you may not have realized that you felt. You have ideas you may have never thought
before. You become more eloquent, more insightful. Listening requires a desire to understand
another human beings, an attitude of respect and acceptance, and a willingness to open one's
mind to try and see things from another's point of view.

8. " When a relationship is working the act of communicating seems to flow creatively
effortlessly ". - Chip Rose

LINGUISTIC PHILOSOPHY: communication helps build relationships for several reasons.

First, the more you listen, the more you learn about others perspectives. Listening thoughtful,
without judgement or interruption, is also a shoe of caring and respect. With stronger
relationships come deeper feelings of trust.

CHAPTER 1 – YOU, THE TEACHER, AS A PERSON IN SOCIETY
MODULE 1 – THE PHILOSOPHICAL HERITAGE
LEARNING TASK 3

Research on the following philosophies which are important to education. Find out the
"Why teach" and "How to teach".

IDEALISM

In philosophy, idealism is a diverse group of meta-physical views which all assert that "reality"
is in some way indistinguishable or inseparable from human perception and / or understanding
that it is in some sense mentally constituted or that is otherwise closely connected to ideas.
WHY TEACH:

Idealist have high hopes expectations of the teacher. It is believed that students should be taught
how to think in school. The teacher passes on knowledge to the student, and the students gain
and adapt the knowledge. Idealist I think lecture is the most important method to deliver
knowledge to student.

HOW TO TEACH

In this philosophy, teacher is the friend philosopher and guide of his students. The teacher guides
and helps me the children in the development of their physical aspect well as mental abilities.
According to idealist, the teacher should possess good personality, morality, honesty, wisdom
etc. so that the students would follow them. The teacher should encourage students to understand
and solve problems by the method of analysis and synthesis.

students to perceive and understand reality. Realist believe that the job of school is to teach
students about the world around them.

WHY TEACH

Educational realism is the belief that we should study logic, critical thinking, and the scientific
method to teach students to perceive and understand reality. As you might imagine, there is a
heavy emphasis on math and science, though the humanities can also be influenced by education
realism.

Educational realism attempt to teach students how to find that reality through logical processes.
Study of natural world, as well as the skill of Inquiry, and the scientific method are all important
parts of a realist classroom.

PRAGMATISM

Is a philosophical movement that includes those who claim that an ideology or proposition is true
if it works satisfactorily, that the meaning of a preposition is to be found in the practical
consequences of accepting it and that unpractical ideas are to be rejected.

identify and correct many noteworthy social problems that face our nation, with diverse targets
including racism, pollution, homelessness, poverty and violence.

moral dilemmas to understand the implications of one's actions. Students individually select their
objectives and social priorities and then, with guidance from the teacher, create a plan if action to
make the change happen.

ECLECTIC APPROACH TO EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY

Is a method of language education that combines various approaches and methodologies to teach
language depending on the aims of the lesson and the abilities of the learners. Different teaching
methods are barrowed and adopted to suit the requirements of the learners.

monotony. It is more appropriate for Pre- school learning but not less beneficial in the
classrooms. It is helpful in all kinds of skills in stimulating a creative envisionment and gives
confidence to the learners.
HOW TO TEACH

Eclecticism is a conceptual approach that does not hold rigidly to a single paradigm or set of

REFLECTION

After reading and learning about this lesson or topic, i have learned that there lots of
philosophies of education that will help teachers and aspiring educator in the near future.
Philosophy of education helps us to be guided on how to teach, what to teach, and how teach to
the students. This serves us our direction on the teaching techniques that we are going to use in
the future.

As we go through the on this lesson, i am so happy that i learn on what is my philosophy

of education that i am going to use when i become a teacher someday. As a behaviorist, i know
that it is my obligation and desire to create a well manage classroom by arranging it into a room
having a unique and conducive to learning because i do believe that for a better learning of the
students is through their environment.

CHAPTER 1 – YOU, THE TEACHER, AS A PERSON IN SOCIETY
MODULE 2 – FORMULATING YOUR PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION
LEARNING TASK 1 AND 2

Formulate personal philosophy as a teacher.

Through the various high and lows, a teaching philosophy or "mission statement" helps in
educator stay true to one's core beliefs about education and the role of educators can bring life
and direction to any statement. I believe all students have the right to learn, and it is my favorite
duty to cater them as a future educator or mentor someday.

My philosophy of education is that, all children are unique and must have a stimulating
educational environment where learners can grow physically, mentally, emotionally and socially.
It is my desire to create this type of atmosphere where learners / students can meet their full
potential. I will provide a safe environment where students are invited share their ideas and take
risks.

I believe that there are five essential elements that are conducive to learning. (1) The
teacher's role is to act as a guide. (2) Students must have access to hands-on activities. (3)
Students should be able to have choices and let their curiosity direct their learning. (4) Students
need the opportunity to practice skills in a safe environment. (5) Technology must be
incorporated into the school day.

Reflection on their own philosophy by answering guide questions:

1. With what educational philosophy?

• How will you treat your students?
• What will you teach?
• How will you teach?

2. From which philosophies that you have studied and researched did you draw inspiration
as you formulated your own philosophy of education?

3. Does this education philosophy of yours make a difference in your life?

4. What if you do not have formulated philosophy if education at all?

5. Is your educational philosophy more of an abstract theory than a blueprint to daily living?

6. Do you think your philosophy will change as you grow in knowledge?

REFLECTION

Philosophy of education is a statement that identifies and clarifies the beliefs, values and
understandings of an individual or group with respect of education. A philosophy of the
sort is critical in defining and directing the purposes, objectives, and focus of a school.

Through the various high and lows, a teaching philosophy helps in the educator stay true

well-managed classroom by arranging it into a classroom having a conducive to learning
environment where students can meet their full potential. I will provide a safe
environment where students are invited to share their ideas and take risks. As a
behaviorist, I look at the people and other animal as a complex combination of matter that
act only in response to internally or externally generated physical stimuli, behaviorist

responsibility stimuli, physical variables like light temperature, arrangement of furniture,
size and quantity of visual aids have to be controlled to get the desired responses from the
learners I will provide appropriate incentives to reinforce positive response to and
weakens or eliminate negative ones.

As a future educator, I would say that my philosophy of education makes a difference in

my life because it will serve as my guide that will clarify my beliefs, values and
understanding about teaching and education .in the contrary, if I don’t have formulated
my philosophy of education maybe I will not be guided and my ways of teaching will
don’t have any directions. As far as knowledge is concern, I believe that everything
changes as time goes by. There comes a time that we have to face challenges that will
redirect or change our beliefs, thinking, and feelings but my philosophy of education will
remains the same.

Having learned my various roles in society, the competencies that I need to

acquire now in order to perform my future roles effectively, I think are the compassion,
dedication, patience, understanding, role model to everyone and the likes because I
believe that to become a teacher is not an easy task. Being a teacher is not only to teach

CHAPTER 1 – YOU, THE TEACHER, AS A PERSON IN SOCIETY
MODULE 3 – SOCIETY AND YOU
REFLECTION

Write your realization about teaching. Is it worth pursuing?

We all know that teaching profession is one of the most challenging roles that I a person
to act. Being a teacher is not an easy task, you have to give everything what you've got to fulfill
the needs of the students and the community as well. Teachers experienced unending sacrifices
because they act lots of roles. They act as a second parent to every student, act as a guidance
counselor by assessing and guiding students in order for them to do the right things. Sometimes
teacher acts as a peace maker specially when there is something wrong happened between the
students.

Teachers are not only doing tons of workloads, but they are also dealing with students’
behavior. They do much more than simply teach subject matter. It is their job to teach children
problem solving, teamwork to encourage initiative and to build self-esteem. Teaching career is
not being confidante that can play an important role in a child emotional development. Being a
teacher is not only teaching but at the same time it is also a process of learning. Students ask
plenty of questions and it is important for the teacher to know the answers. By teaching, you
need to be constantly learning in order to satisfy the curiosity and thirst for knowledge of your
class, whether you are brushing upon your mathematical skills, discover historical events or
improving your English language. Your knowledge base is constantly increasing. The learning
will help you by giving you more confidence in the classroom.

Teaching is worth pursuing because, aside from a high demand rate of teachers, it has a
valuable holidays and job securities. Unlike any other profession, teachers have lots of paid
holidays including two whole months in the summer. This gives every teacher time to rest,
recharge, and spent quality time with family and loved ones. As a teacher you can belong to a
teaching union which help to negotiate and secure teaching benefits. Teaching union exist to
protect the rights and interest of teacher regarding working hours, condition, pay and facilities
and engage in collective bargaining on behalf of teachers in order to negotiate the best condition
you. Teaching is an independent working. To a large extent, being a teacher means being your
own boss. Teachers job will not be micro managed and you will be largely autonomous. Lastly,
teaching is worth pursuing because it is my passion and my mission as well.

1. What does the phrase that "To be moral is to be human" mean?

To be moral is to be human. This means that any act that is moral makes a man / woman
become more of the kind of human being that he or she was intended to be. In other words, you
we can become more human when we are doing right things. We, the humans already know on
what is right and what is wrong, or what is good and what is evil. So, because of this, we must do
the right things in order for us to become more human.

2. Why is morality subjected only to person?

Morality is only for persons because, only persons are endowed with intellect, with which
they can think, reason out and analyze and free will with which they can choose meaning. Human
beings unlike other animals are able to make consideration of moral choices. We are not born
with this ability. Human beings have something that no other animal has, an ability to participate
in collective cognition. Morality is only for persons because only the human beings can act in
accordance of morality. Lastly, human beings are considered as the highest form of living beings.

is based, founded, originated or initiated. A foundational moral principle is, therefore the
universal norm upon which able other principles on the source of morality.

This lesson was delivered and discourage were, I learned where is this

MODULE 5 – VALUES FORMATION AND YOU
REFLECTION

After learning this lesson, I have learn a lot about values formation as a teachers as
a future educator, I already know that to teach student is not only teaching from books
but teaching also can be in the way that you are going to develop them in a good person
through their personalize to behavior especially in teaching with other. Knowledge can
easily acquire if you will exert effort to form them a good citizen, and to become a role
model to my students is the future.

In this lesson, I also learned that values are unchanging, universal and remains a
value despite no one values them are called transcendent values. And this transcendent
value is where values formation begins. I learned that the value formation of a teacher has
three dimensions where just knowing the value is not enough but as well as appreciate
and live with it.

MODULE 6 – TEACHING AS YOUR VOCATION
JOURNAL ENTRY A

Is enrolling in the College of Teacher Education your choice? If you were forced by
circumstances to choose teaching, what are your chance to remain in teaching, love
leaching, and enjoy life as a teacher?

Since when I was a child, i loved playing the role of a teacher. I remember when we
played "aral-aralan" together with my cousins and friends, I'm always the one who acted as their
teacher. I loved teaching some lessons that I got somewhere out there. There were sometimes
that my elder sister also wanted to do my part, but I did not let her. When I'm already in
elementary, i loved to see my teacher teaching our lessons dressed up with his uniform, sharing
stories about life, showing love and tools care to all of us. And because of that, I secretly told to
myself that someday I will also be like him. My ambition remains until my high school years.
Same as what I felt during my elementary grades. I idolized my teachers, I love seeing them
teaching lessons with their uniforms. Sometimes they acted as my super hero when somebody
bullied me. They share some good advices, and compassion to all of us.

When I'm already in third year high school, there was something wrong with my family.
My mother was diagnosed from liver cancer and she died quickly. I felt so sad and depressed. It
seems like I don't want to to school anymore because of the tragedy of the haunted to my mother,
but my siblings encouraged me to finished my third year and finish my secondary. And with the
help of my siblings I finished it. After my graduation I went to Manila to look for a job. I worked
as an assistant beautician in the salon. I enjoyed working there until I already forgot to send
myself back to school because I already earned big amounts of money. My ambition to become a
teacher was so unclear, because I almost spent of my entire life working in the salon.

When I reached at the age of 40's I've realized that I forgot something, or there is
something missing in my life. I know that this is not what I want in my future. Suddenly I went
to Christ the King and enquire how much is the tuition fees and I enrolled Bachelor of Secondary
Education major in Filipino. There were so many things happened in my past, but despite of my
age and all of those things happened before, I'm m here now in college taking up this course so
that I will reach my ambition before it’s too very late. I can say that being a teacher is my
vocation because of so many things happened in my past, still I did not quit to reach my goal.
And I also believe that even if is almost late I will enjoy as a teacher because I know that it is my
passion and I know I will enjoy it for the rest of my life.

DIRECTION: Complete the following statement and answer the questions that follow.
The answer to this statement must be something personal or (based on your own
experience with) reflecting the very reasons of enrolling in the College of Teacher
Education.

I have chosen teaching as a career because of so many reasons: First is, because it
is my ambition. Since when I was young, I dream to become a teacher someday. Being a
teacher is my compassion, i love to teach children and impart my knowledge to them. I
want to become an inspiration and to be part of their lives. Being a teacher is not only
teaching but it is a big responsibility. Teacher play a great role that will create students to

CHAPTER 1 – YOU, THE TEACHER, AS A PERSON IN SOCIETY
MODULE 6 – TEACHING AS YOUR VOCATION
REFLECTION

In this module, I learned that teaching is not just another profession it comes with
a lot of responsibilities. The development of a country depends on the teacher nation and
the future of students are in the hands of teacher. The students are likely day whose future
can be molded in any shapes covered by teachers.
Teachers are one of the important personalities in the country because they inspire
and motivate students which results in the production of affective man power. Teaching
is not a simple work to just to be paid off, it was not a job only to be finish within the
given time. But teaching is making sure that the students will become a responsible
person in the society.

As a future educator, I must know that teaching is just the same as other
profession, it requires a long year of preparation and striving for excellence. I must
embrace to go through hardships, long period of time to prepared and continuing
professional improvement, in order for my future students to learn best.

CHAPTER 2 – THE TEACHER IN THE CLASSROOM AND COMMUNITY
MODULE 7 – CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
LEARNING TASKS
SYNAPSE STRENGTHENER

1. Determine fully a well - managed classroom. Determine your own criteria. You can
add a concrete picture of a well- managed classroom.

Classroom management includes various aspects but one of the most vital is that,
the students are engaged. A well -managed classroom will keep the students at all times
in the cleaning process. Students are involved in the learning process which helps foster
higher - level thinking skills in students.

Teaching creatively can be a major factor in students’ engagement because a

lesson that is not interesting will cause the students to stop listening and become
distracted. A more creative teaching method will capture the students’ attention and allow
them to focus. Expectation such as class objectives are clear in a well - managed
classroom. Students know material they will be tested as well as the teacher expectations
various assignments they will be graded on. To minimize the wasted time and Improve
efficiency, a well-known managed classroom has good time management skills. The
students know which areas in the classroom. The classroom environment is also stress
free to ensure a good workflow and positive environment. Decorating the classroom, as
we ask allowing students to participate in classroom decorating can help encourage a
positive work environment.

2. Based on your own experience, describe a teacher ''s personality that attracted and
resulted in good behavior.

Starting from elementary until i graduated my secondary education, I had noticed

that teachers are not having the same personalities. I observed that there are some have
positive traits or behavior and some are not.

During my elementary grades, i had my favorite teacher. She's so kind,

passionate, patient cooperative, loving, and understanding. In our classes, she always has
done something for all of us. Every morning she is always saying good morning to all of
us and she is always making sure that everyone is great. She always understands
everything. Sometimes she gave something to those who don't have "baon" or snacks. If
she saw one of us don't have materials to be use in our class activities she will provide
and give to him or her so that everyone can participate the said activity. She is the kind of
teacher that you can talk with, somebody you can share your problems without any
hesitation, and she is the one that you can lean on especially in times of hardships and
troubles. She always reminded everyone on how to become a good and respectful person
especially to the elders. She is one of the most responsible and respected person I've ever
meet because she never forget her obligation and respected us. Sometimes she visited us
on our houses just to make sure that we're re all okay. She acted as our second parents, a
good teacher, and our best friend.

Teachers’ personality is very much significant when it comes to dealing with your
classes. It has a big impact to the students’ behaviors when they grow up and out of the
school preemies. A teacher's attitude towards students affects the egg or personalities and
their learnings. A good teacher should be a good example or a role model to the students
in order for them to be inspired and motivated in all means.

3. How does a teacher's temperament affect the student’s behavior? Cite examples
based on observation.
Teacher personality is very much important specially in dealing with the
student.as I said before, it has a huge impact to the student at they continue their journey.
The teacher attitude affect the student personalities and behaviors.

Teacher should build a great relationship with the student. A good student teacher
relationship in the classroom help in facilitating student learning. The way in which the
teacher behaves, explain the lesson and interact with the student during course study has
a big impact on student success and achievement. The role of the teacher is not only to
educate, but they are also become as a parent, mentor, and best friend to all of their
student.

Teacher personality contributes an important role to student behavior. Student

who are motivate to learn generally do better in school. In my own experience, I've notice
that I can do best when I am motivate and inspired with my teacher. No matter how hard
it is if I'm well motivate and inspired, I can do it with the best that I can. Being a student I
appreciate teacher who listen to my concern and I treat everyone of us in the classroom
fairly.

CHAPTER 2 – THE TEACHER IN THE CLASSROOM AND COMMUNITY
MODULE 7 – CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
JOURNAL ENTRY

Write a journal about your own place "learning and feelings" Are you now prepared and
ready to assume your role as an effective classroom manager? Why do you say so?
Teacher personality is very much significant when it comes to classroom management. It
has great impact to the students’ behavior when it comes to learning and dealing with others. A
good teacher should be responsible in his/her obligation. Motivating and inspiring student is the
key to ward successful relationship between teacher and student especially in the learning
process. Based on the experience I had before, i can do good quality output when I'm well
motivate and inspired with my teacher even though how hard the task was.

As of this time, I can say that I'm not totally prepared and ready to become an effective
classroom manager, because I know I still have so many things to learn. It's not so easy to
manage a classroom because you have to face many struggles and challenge specially now a
days. As a student of teacher education, I'm here now preparing myself to assume my roles and
as a teacher, parent, a parent, and a best friend to learn on by the student in the near future. The
best thing that I can do is to apply what I have learned and experience during my elementary and
high school days with my favorite teacher whom molded and inspired me to become affective
classroom manager someday. Of course, with the help of my professor in college, I must develop
myself in order to be qualified and prepared with the profession I choose. Likewise, I must
devote myself to the career of training student to have Achievement, personality and skilled in
order to face the reality

MODULE 8 – SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY RELATION
LEARNING TASK
SYNAPSE STRENGTHENER

Apply what you have learned. Upload all answers in the Google form assigned to you.

I. Let us have your decisions regarding the following:

A. A student always involved in cases of misbehavior.

I believe in students’ diversity, there are some students are behaving in the class
but some are not. But before we do anything in that particular student who is
misbehaving, let's consider first some reason why he or she is misbehaving. Maybe there
are some reasons why they are doing such thing. As a teacher, it is my job to do this task
and look for some solutions that this misbehaving attitude in the class will be lessen or
even stopped. The first thing that I would do is that, I will connect with him / her, I will
talk to them what causes of their misbehaving and listen to their reasons why do such
thing, and after that I will explain to them on what is the appropriate or proper behavior
must the student will do in the classroom. And lastly I will visit them in their home just to
get some information about their family background and let their parents know on what is
happening with their children on the classroom.

B. Student is observed to be negative or indifferent to his classmate's suggestions.

There is always reasons why students shows different behavior or attitudes. It is

well known that we are all have our own feelings, types of moods, which causes our
difference from one another. If this happen in my classes, I should be patient and solve it
professionally. If one of my students interrupts his or her classmates i will call the
attention of the said student by asking some questions related to the topics that we are
discussing, because I believe that, I through this, he or she will pay attention to our
discussion and the wrong doings to the classmates will be prevented. And of course, I
will not forget to have an eye to eye contact with them because through this maybe this
problem will be solved. But if still remain after you did your remedies, I will talk
personally to the said student and give consequences by calling the presence of the parent
of the said student.

C. Daily assignment are incomplete, oftentimes not understood. What will you do?

We all know that doing assignments is so hard specially when our teacher giving
it prior to the discussion such topic. Even there is already lots of the resources some of
the students felt so hard to do such assignments and it causes of incorporating it and
sometimes not understood.

As a teacher, I will give them assignments where all students can do achievable
and understandable to all of them. I will make the instructions clear and understandable
because most of the students who didn't do their arguments do not understand the task
given to them. I will make sure that it will not take too long time for them to do. And if
they did not pass their assignments on the given due time, I will give them chance to pass
it but marks as late.

D. Will you request for a dialogue with the parent?

It is very much important to have a dialogue with the parents of the students
because it can create a successful learning and strong foundation relationship between
parents’ teachers and student’s relationship. Through this dialogue, you can tell parents
on what are their students’ progress, behaviors and of course their performances in the
classrooms and because of this, parents and teachers help support students to develop.
And through this, parents will know what is happening in the classroom and how their
child is learning. Knowing their family will help teachers understand the students and
what teaching styles and strategies for students learning to use.

II. How will you "face" or dialogue with the parent?

A. Unreceptive parents?

A parent who are willing to be involve on their child life will be willing to
communicate with their child's teacher and school and will be open for ideas and
changes. However, if a parent is not open, it will be hard. It is hard to deal with a parent
who is willing to get involve and to communicate.

In this situation, as a teacher I think the best thing to do is to always keep calm.
Do not force to talk parents when they are elusive or not willing to cooperate try to
contact them again because we cannot force them. Just focus to your students. However I
if this will cause a negative behavior kg his / her child and the rest of the students, it is
best to talk to parents personally, and let them know that it will be best if there is good
relationship between parents teacher and a students that will cause harmony in home,
community, and school.

B. Receptive parents?

Parents who is receptive are very easy to talk to and open for others ideas. They
are easy to accept and communicate especially with regards to their child.
Communication to them is very much casual. There will be a big benefit if a parent is
receptive. When teacher and parent work together they can both monitor the child that
will help the child’s learning and behavior in the classroom be great and also it will build
trust between parent and teacher.

As a teacher I'm so very thankful if all parents are receptive because they are open
minded and easy to approach with regards to their child learning progress and classroom
behaviors. Through this it will help a lot in developing students to become a good
example to the rest. And to the community as well when they grow up.
