readers will be able to capture what the author of the paper will aim to prove throughout

the research. By composing an engaging and effective thesis, authors create a persuasive
opening to their research that both entices readers in and creates interest about the
paper content.

An interesting thesis statement must be arguable. An argumentative statement will

persuade others to see things the way the author wants them to see it and other times he
will simply be giving his strong opinion and laying out the case for it. It attracts curiosity
from the audience and entices them to keep reading.

It must not be factual as these prevent the author from demonstrating his critical thinking
and analytical skills which he wants to show to the readers. A thesis statement makes an
assertion about a topic and predicts how the topic will be developed. It does not simply
announce a subject but rather say something about the subject matter. It announces the
purpose, scope, and direction of the paper and communicate to the reader what to expect
and what the specific focus will be.
