I. FORM

1. Positive Form
S+am/is/are+Ving+……..
Ex: I am eating rice.
They are playing football.
She is cooking rice.
2. Negative Form

S+am/is/are+not+Ving+……
Ex: He is not drinking beer.
She is not swimming poor.
I am not crying.

3. Question Form

Am/is/are+S+Ving+…?
Ex: Is he driving car?
Is she sleeping at home?
Am I studying in class?

II. Verb + Ing

 When a verb ends in “e” , drop the “e” and add “ing” .
Ex: take + ing = taking
Come + ing = Coming
Make + ing =Making
Live+ing = Living
Smoke+ing = Smoking
 The verbs that finish with 2 Eat the end before we add ing we do not delete E we add ing.
Ex: Agree+ing =Agreeing
See+ing = Seeing
 When a one syllable verb ends in vowel+ consonant, double the final consonant and
“ing”.
Ex: Get+ing = Getting
Stop+ing = Stopping
Swim+ing = Swimming
Run+ing = Running
Sit+ing = Sitting
Hit+ing = Hitting

III. State Verb

 State verb can’t use with of present continuous because it saw the feeling of someone.

VI. Time Expressions

Present Progressive am/is/are + V + ing Now / Right now / at the moment.


Ex: I am going to school now.
She is coming here right now.
He is taking with my friends right now.
They are playing volleyball at the moment.
We are watching TV now.
He is working in Cambodia right now.
I am studding English now.
We are reading book at the moment.
For Future am/is/are + V + ing tomorrow / today / next week / next month
