Lesson Plan Word Formation

The lesson plan aims to teach 9th grade students about word formation processes. It includes learning objectives for students to identify different word formation types, derive word meanings, and work cooperatively in groups. The lesson proper will define word formation, discuss common types like compounding and blending, and provide examples for students to analyze. Formative assessment involves students providing new words using given word parts and identifying the word formation process. As homework, students must supply five examples for each word formation type on a half sheet of paper.
