Educ. 20 - Lesson Plan

This lesson plan aims to have students read and summarize the story "How the Ethiopian Woman Tamed Her Husband." Students will assemble picture puzzles to predict the topic. They will then read the story and complete a problem-solution chart by answering questions about the woman's problem and her attempts to solve it. Key points include the woman going to a witchdoctor for help winning back her husband's love, and her ultimately taming her husband just as she tamed a lion. Students will then discuss the suitability of the title and lessons learned from the main character. They will write a short response comparing witchdoctors in the Philippines to those in the story.
