Introduction

In this case, the author introduced how did teamwork effect IEDO. They are using

teamwork to improve innovation and creativity. The concept of teamwork is using in every

team through all the company. And makes the company better.

Teamwork influence innovation

Innovation and creativity are very important during a company’s development (Teamwork

at IDEO). There are several functions that are influence innovation at IDEO

1. Brainstorming

Brainstorming means that the working group carries out discussion in the form of a meeting

in an unrestricted atmosphere, breaks the routine and gives full expression to its views. The

reason why we need brainstorming in a team is because it can be a good way to build a

team, create a transparent and trusting communication atmosphere, and thus improve the

tacit degree of team cooperation. At the beginning of a project, project collaboration by

brainstorming all people included in the chain, let everybody discussion, such doing can

communication foundation for subsequent projects, and deepen the cognition of all team

members to service.

2. Sharing and improving

Knowledge collection is a keyway to gain more experience. To share the knowledge to the

team can save time for the whole team and have more idea about how to improve the project

and do things better.

Diversity influence the effectiveness

Team cognitive diversity reflections on team creativity and examine the influence of the

team and team atmosphere of intermediary role in the above relations and regulating role. IDEO

thinks diversity of interdisciplinary can make the team has higher quality, faster innovation

(Teamwork at IDEO).

First of all, I think diversity of interdisciplinary can brings more knowledge to the team.

The team member not only can think about what their knowledge can brings the project but

also can think about to cooperate with other team member’s knowledge. And think about a

creative and diversified solution. Second is I think, team members can have more experience

by during discuss with other team members and to learn more.

Characters of a good team member

The main factor of a team's success is its cohesiveness, it is pulling together to achieve

greater results.

1. Clear goals. Each member of the team can have different goals and different personalities,

but as a whole, there must be a common goal to strive for.

2. Resource complementation. Team members a variety of thinking, even if the team members

agree on some point one. If all members of a team thinking at the height of the unification,

but in fact the team is still invalid doing the same thing. The team pays attention to resource

complementation rather than resource overlap. In my opinion only when resource

complementation, the cost will be lower, otherwise, even if the team goal is achieved, the

cost is still too high, and its meaningless.

3. Great communication skills. Communication is a very basic thing we are doing every day

in both live and work, to have a better communication skill can help to join the team faster

can get familiar with others faster. The reason why I think this is a character when choosing

team member is because, the modern society in particular needs communication, to have

the ability to control the organization and coordination. Intentions can mutual

understanding, communication, to improve the work efficiency.

4. Responsible. Responsibility refers to responsible for family and collective and social

cognition, emotion and belief. It is the basic quality that a person should have, it is the

foundation of sound personality, it is the guarantee of family harmony and social stability.

Responsible employees will realize the importance of their work in the organization and

regard the realization of the organization's goals as their own.

Conclusion

Based on this case study, I learnt some ideas about how and why the team member is very

important. Also, during this case study, I find out some characters that are important and can

influence an efficient teamwork. The case makes me think if what I need to think if I want to

bring a team and what we can offer to my team.
